Maxine E. Lange (Baxter), 92 of Bellingham, Wash., born and raised in Blair, went on to be with the Lord peacefully, with her husband Bob by her side, on Oct. 11, 2021.

Maxine Lange went to be with the Lord peacefully, with her husband and stepson by her side, on Oct. 11, 2021.

Maxine Elaine (Baxter) Lange was born March 11, 1929, along with her twin sister, Marjorie, to her parents Leroy and Margaret Baxter in Blair, Nebraska.

She first met her husband, Bob, when he was a student at the U. of Nebraska in 1956 when she, her husband, and infant son, lived next to Bob and his wife. After Bob graduated and went to work for Boeing in Seattle Maxine and Bob’s wife kept in contact through the years.

When Bob’s wife died in 1990. He let Maxine, who lived in Wisconsin, know of her death. Maxine and Bob continued with daily phone contact. Bob finally went to meet Maxine in October 1991, which resulted in a wedding four weeks later on November 15th.

Maxine and Bob enjoyed traveling to Arizona to spend the winter for 12 years. They have resided in Bellingham for the last 22 years. Maxine loved her Lord and enjoyed singing in the choir at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Maxine was preceded in death by her mother and father, brother William, sisters: Dorothy, Iris, Betty, and Marjorie, and stepdaughter Kathleen (Lange) Phillips.

Surviving Maxine are her husband Bob, son Paul (Emma) Kindler, stepson Timothy Lange, stepdaughter Karen (Vince) Cacanindin, grandchildren: Peyton, Adam, Amelia, and Trevor, and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service for family and friends will be held at Greenacres Memorial Park in Ferndale at noon on November 15th.
