Ellen L. Ryder, age 88, of Blair, passed away Oct. 24, 2021. Services are currently pending with Campbell Aman Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Ellen Ryder passed away on Sunday, October 24, 2021. Ellen was born in Omaha to James and Edna Grimit in 1933 and graduated from North High School and the University of Nebraska at Omaha (1958). She married Ray Ryder with whom she enjoyed 63 years until his passing in 2015.

Ellen was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her two adopted daughters, Hazel Irene Kramer and Leota Ann Langston, and siblings James Grimit Jr. and Richard Grimit. She is survived by her siblings, Robert Grimit of Lincoln; Larry Grimit of Omaha; and Laura Orris of Elizabeth, Colorado; her grandson Richard Kramer of Carter Lake, Iowa; three great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Ellen is also survived by special friends, Mary Jean and Mick Rahlfs, and her special friend and caretaker, Veronica Clark.

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 pm on Friday, October 29th at Campbell Aman Funeral Home, 444 South 17th street in Blair, NE. Funeral services will be 10:00 am on Saturday, October 30th at the Blair Congregational United Church of Christ, 16th and Colfax Street, Blair, Nebraska. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army or to the Washington County Community Foundation.
