Heart Attack Claims Life of Ed Rasmussen (Hooper Sentinel 2-7-1963)

Edgar R. Rasmussen, 48, succumbed to a heart attack Tuesday evening. Stricken while at work, he was taken to the Dodge Co. Community Hospital, and was ill only a few hours.

The funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Redeemer Lutheran Church with the Rev. G. VanBoening in charge.

The body will lie in state at the Wollmer & Warne funeral Home from 7 to 9 o’clock Thursday evening.

Mr. Rasmussen is survived by his wife; two daughters, Marjorie, a student at the University of Nebraska and Julie at home; four sisters, Mrs. Vigo Hansen of Fremont, Mrs. John Pohl, Mrs. Elizabeth Scovoda and Mrs. Enola Tegue, all of Omaha; and one brother Raymond, also of Omaha.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Mr. Rasmussen was born near Herman on July 23, 1914 to Julia and Anton Rasmussen. In August 12, 1942 he married Clara Lahn at West Point. They lived at Winslow for a time, later moving to Norfolk. They returned to Hooper in 1955 and he has since operated a filling station and cafe here.

He was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church, and the Hooper Commercial Club.
