Anton Petersen Is Taken by Death Monday

Anton Petersen, 83, died Monday morning at the Dodge County Community Hospital in Fremont, where he had been a patient for two days. He had been in failing health for 2 years.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock Thursday afternoon at the Redeemer Lutheran church with the Rev. G. Van Boening conducting the service. Interment will be in the Hooper Cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the church from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service, and the casket will not be opened after the service.

Mr. Petersen is survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs. David Woodcock of Fremont; three grandchildren; a brother, Julius of Fremont; a sister Mrs. John Ladd of Fulton, Calif. His parents, two brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.

Mr. Petersen was born April 9, 1880 at Herman, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Nels Petersen. He married Emilie Dam on March 24, 1915, and after living in Washington County for a time, they moved to Hooper in 1929.

Mr. Petersen was a faithful member of Redeemer Lutheran church and served as councilman of the former Grace Lutheran Church for a number of years.
