Chris L. Jensen, 89, of Tekamah, passed away on Thursday morning, May 14, 1987, at the Oakland Heights Nursing Center in Oakland where he had been a resident since September, 1985.

He was born on October 30, 1897, at Barada, Nebraska, to Rev. Martin and Christina (Volthers) Jensen.

He was united in marriage to Minnie A. Geschke on October 3, 1918, at Syracuse, Nebraska.

He farmed for nearly all his life, until retiring at the age of 65, when they moved to Tekamah.

He became a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Tekamah in 1927.

Survivors include his wife, Minnie, of Oakland; two daughters: Dorthea (Mrs. Ronald) Bell of Tekamah and Helen (Mrs. Loren) Bundy of Oakland; one sister, Frieda Goans of Cornelius, Oregon; three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, and one sister.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, 1987, at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Tekamah with Rev. David L. Nystrom officiating.

Interment was in the Tekamah Cemetery.

A prayer service was held at 7:30 on Friday evening at the hamel and Peck Funeral Home in Tekamah.
