Claus Ohrt, 80, Buried Wednesday

Claus Ohrt passed away at the Blair Community Memorial Hospital Sunday, June 20th. He was born to Mr. and Mrs. Tim Ohrt at Ft. Calhoun on July 18, 1884 and would have been 81 years of age next month.

In February, 1911 he was married to Anna Prochnow and they celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary on February 19, 1961.

Mr. Ohrt was stricken with polio in 1920 and his wife has given him excellent care during the past 45 years.

They were the parents of two sons, Walter and Albert Ohrt.

Survivors besides his wife Anna, and two sons are two grandchildren, Mrs. Rodney Mayo (Cheryl) of Omaha and Calvin. Also one great-grandson.

Mr. Ohrt was a farmer before his retirement.

Funeral services were on Wednesday, June 23, at the Ft. Calhoun Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Jack Mauldin officiated. Burial was in the Ft. Calhoun cemetery with the Sievers Mortuary in charge.

Pallbearers were: Claus Rowher, Henry Rowher, John Rathman, Otto Iverson, Chris Iverson of Ft. Calhoun and Ernest Schmidt of Omaha. Mrs. Clara Butterfield was organist and Mrs. Chas, McNew was soloist.
