Former Superintendent of various Nebraska schools. He is survived by his daughter, Sharon (Don) Davis; sons, David (Olga) Hansen and Michael (Cindi) Hansen; 8 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.

FUNERAL: Friday, 10:30am, at First Lutheran Church in Blair. VISITATION: Thursday with family receiving friends from 6-8pm at Campbell Aman Funeral Home in Blair.

Andrew “Butch” Hansen. Age 95 of Blair, passed away January 25, 2022. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 28, at 10:30AM at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Graveside services will follow at the Blair Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday January 27, with family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Campbell Aman Funeral Home.

Andrew grew up in Blair, Nebraska. He enjoyed swimming and later worked as a lifeguard for six years at the Blair pool.

After graduation, he served in the United States Navy.

He returned to Blair and attended Dana College and participated on the Dana College football team.

Andrew enjoyed a long career in public education. He began his career teaching Spanish and Business for the Herman Public Schools. After receiving a Master’s Degree in Administration from the University of South Dakota at Vermillion, he served the next 35 years as a Superintendent of Schools. He was Superintendent of Avoca, Sterling, Coleridge, Fort Calhoun, Litchfield Elk Creek and Prague Public Schools.

Andrew and Ruby retired in Blair, they enjoyed traveling at home and abroad, but most of all hosting and attending every family event. He is survived by his daughter Sharon (Don) Davis, sons David (Olga) Hansen and Michael (Cindi) Hansen, 8 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Agnetha and Andrew Hansen, loving wife Ruby, sisters Lavonne, Faye and Lorraine; and brothers Niles and Ray.
