Crofton, Josephine Ann

February 2, 1929 - January 26, 2022

Josephine "JoAnn" A. Crofton of Louisville, NE was born to Edward and Hazel Cachelin of Fort Calhoun, NE. She graduated from Fort Calhoun High School in 1946, married Robert L. Hansen also of Fort Calhoun in 1948, and spent many years raising her four children as a stay-at-home mom, both in Omaha and on various farmsteads around the area.

In 1967 she and Robert opened Hi-Vu Service & Café north of Weeping Water on Highway 50, and operated this business until their divorce in 1974. JoAnn then met and married Richard Crofton of Louisville and returned to the restaurant business by purchasing Hi-Vu in 1977 as well as opening Crofton's Restaurant and Lounge in Louisville in 1981. Both businesses were sold in 1992. JoAnn loved to dance, play Bingo, cook, meet new people and stay close to friends. Her greatest joy was her immediate family.

JoAnn is survived by three children, Randy (Becky) Hansen, Eldon (Sandy) Hansen, and Sandy (Jerry) Latham; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson. She was preceded in death by her spouse, Richard; son, Robert E. Hansen; and former spouse, Robert L. Hansen.

VISITATION: Monday, January 31, 1–8pm, with family Receiving friends from 6–8pm at Fusselman-Allen-Harvey Funeral Home, 413 Elm St, Louisville NE. FUNERAL SERVICE: Tuesday, February 1, at 10:30am at Louisville First United Methodist Church, 222 Walnut St, Louisville NE. The Service will be live-streamed on the Fusselman-Facebook page.
