Washington, NE. Passed away on January 29, 2022. Preceded in death by parents Henry and Mabel Eicke; sister Betty Ann Hood; and grandson Scott Eicke. Survived by wife LeMara of Washington; children: Edward of Washington, Lynn and Lisa of Herman NE, Paula and Steve Schuman of N. Las Vegas NV, and Mae and Mike Farrar of Grand Prairie, TX; 7 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: 11am Tuesday at the Reichmuth Funeral Home, Elkhorn. INURNMENT with Military Honors at Prairie View Cemetery, Washington, NE. VISITATION: Monday from 5-8pm at the Funeral Home.

Memorials to the Bennington Fire and Rescue Squad.

Henry A. Eicke (Artie) was born on the family farm north of Elkhorn, Nebraska (NE) on July 20, 1933 to Henry C. and Mabel Eicke (nee Mass). Artie grew up in Elkhorn, attended country school 43, Elk City, and graduated from Elkhorn High School in 1952. Growing up, Artie was most interested in fast cars.

Artie joined the United States Army, and served from 1953 until his honorable discharge in 1961.

Artie married LeMara Misfeldt at Bethany Lutheran Church in Elkhorn on November 12, 1955, and to this union, four children were born: Edward, Lynn, Paula and Mac. The family moved around before settling in Washington, Nebraska in 1961.

Artie worked as a delivery driver for Knudsen Oil and Feed for over 34 years. He volunteered at the Washington County Recycling Center, served on the Washington Town Board and the Fire Department. Artie was also a member of the American Legion, and VFW Post #2503. He loved to travel and visited several foreign countries. Artie was a fan of Country music and Husker football, and was a man who understood the benefits of a nap! He enjoyed fixing cars, and most of all, loved camping with the family in Colorado.

Artie passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 88 years, 6 months and 9 days.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry & Mabel Eicke, sister Betty Ann Hood, and grandson Scott Eicke.

Artie is survived by his wife LeMara of Washington; children: Edward of Washington, Lynn & Lisa of Herman, NE, Paula & Steve Schuman of N. Las Vegas, NV, and Mae & Mike Farrar of Grand Prairie, TX; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren plus multiple nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Reichmuth Funeral Home, Elkhorn. Inurnment with military honors at Prairie View Cemetery, Washington. Visitation, Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials to the Bennington Fire and Rescue Squad.
