DONALD "BUD" JENSEN, 75

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 6 at First United Methodist Church for Donald "Bud" Jensen, 75, of Blair, who died September 4, 1990 after suffering a heart attack. Burial will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Donald Jensen was born May 1, 1915 at Blair, Nebraska to Frank and Freida Petersen Jensen. He graduated from Blair High School in 1933.

He married Mary Jensen in Blair September 29, 1940.

He entered the military in 1943 during World War II and served for two years. Upon his discharge he returned to Blair and worked for T.A. Bohs.

He purchased the Skelly Service Station on 19th and Washington Streets in 1952. He operated that business until his retirement in 1980.

He joined the Volunteer Fire Department in 1938 and was active until he joined the service. After his return, he served with the Herman Fire Department in 1946-47.

He was a member of the Blair Fire Department for over 50 years. With the Blair Fire Department, he was assistant chief from 1955-64 and was vice president in 1965, 1966 and from 1975-78. He was president in 1967-68 and served on the Board of Trustees from 1979.

He was a charter member of the Blair Rescue Squad, which was formed in 1964. He joined it in February, 1964.

He was a member of the Blair Veterans of Foreign FWars and American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; one son and daughter-in-law, Donny and Sarah Jensen of Blair; one granddaughter, Adrian Jensen; one sister, Lucille Smith; his mother, Freida Devinney; and one sister-in-law, Mazie Jensen, all of Blair.
