Louis Verdan - The Pilot - 22 Jun, 1893

DEATH OF AN OLD SETTLER

Louis Verdan, whom many of the old residents will remember as one of the first settlers in Blair died from a paralytic stroke at the Soldiers' Home at Marshalltown Iowa on Sunday, the 18th inst., in his 54th year

Mr Verdan was a veteran of the Rebellion, having served in Co. K 3d Wisconsin Volunteers, and was honorably discharged at the close of the war. He leaves a wife and two children surviving him who reside in Blair. His remains were buried in the Home cemetery at Marshalltown.
