Corianna Whisanand

A very distressing fatal accident occurred at the home of James Whisanand in this city last Saturday afternoon whereby his little daughter Corianna, aged 18 months, lost her life, Mrs. Whisanand was cleaning the floor and using concentrated lye, a cup of which the child got hold of during her momentary absence from the room and drank of it. The little one lingered in agony for about twenty-four hours or until 4 o'clock P. M. Sunday. Every possible effort was made to afford relief but medical skill was powerless. The funeral was held at the residence Monday Rev. Sheppard officiating.
