#1-22 June, 1893 - The Pilot - David Kelly

Mr. David Kelly whose sudden death on Thursday was briefly noticed last week, was buried from the Catholic church Saturday morning. Mr. Kelly was 59 years of age and a native of Canada and had been a citizen of Mo. Valley for near 25 years removing to Blair some two years ago. He leaves an aged wife and six grown up children, of which our. respected townsman, Wm. Kelly, Councilman and manager of the Acme Mills, is one. Mr. Kelly was highly respected by all who knew him and his sudden death was a most severe shock to his family and friends.

Mr. Kelly was born in the Province of Quebec April 7th, 1835. In his childhood his parents settled in Ottawa city of the province, at that time called Byetown, and purchased some lands now within the limits of Ottawa. He afterwards moved to Osgood, some fifteen miles distant where he resided for near 30 years. In September, 1876, he moved to the state of Iowa and settled about five miles southeast of Mo. Valley where he resided until about three years ago when he removed to this city. He leaves a wife and three daughters and three sons who mourn his loss.
