Sadie Edith Beam Called Home

ADMAH, Sept. 5, 1893 Sadie Edith, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D.C. Beam, died at her home in Craig on Sunday, Sept. 3, 1893, after a lingering illness of some three months of that dreaded disease consumption.

She was born at Admah, Feb. 15, 1877, and lived at that place until about a month before her death. This makes the fourth time cold death has entered the home of the Beam family within the past seven years taking mother, father, brother and sister-for it was only three weeks before on the day of Sadie’s death that her father was called home. Sadie was a bright, active, pleasant girl, a general favorite among her schoolmates and was loved by all who knew her. In school she was a good student, a good scholar, ranking among the first in her grade. She was a member of Good Hope I.O.G.T. held at Alder Grove and now that her spirit has flown above we feel that we have lost a member whose place cannot be filled. She leaves an only brother, two sisters and a host of sympathizing friends to mourn her loss. Her body was interred in the Admah cemetery, Sept. 4, after a beautiful sermon preached by Rev. Scudder, of Craig.

Although she is gone from our vision,
We know that she is not lost
For Sadie was a Christian,
And her spirit floats above.
