Sophia Verlautz

Mrs. Sophia Verlautz, the aged mother of August Verlautz, Wm. Bree, Mrs. Geo. Franks and Mrs. Verdan, died at the residence of her son, Mr. Verlautz, in this city last Monday night about 10 o’clock, aged about 87 years. She was a native of Germany, but came to this country and settled in Wisconsin sometime in the 50s. Later, in 1864, she came to Nebraska and as soon as Blair was laid out became a resident of our town where she has resided ever since.
