CHARLEY S. ADAMS, 86

Charley S. Adams, 86, died Thursday, May 20, 2004, at his home in Blair.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 25, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Charley S. Adams was born Feb. 6, 1918, near Onawa, Iowa, to Major and Grace (Johnson) Adams.

On Aug. 24, 1940, he married Shirley Wells in Sidney, Iowa. The couple farmed in the Fort Calhoun area until 1963. They then moved to Blair, where Charley began working for the Nebraska Road Deparment, where he was a foreman. He retired from the road department in 1983.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley; two daughters, Karen Adams of Omaha and Ronda Dryden of Blair; son, Mark Adams of Blair; six grandchildren; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Inez and Duane Layton of Modale, Iowa; Eunice and Clifford Stueve of Missouri Valley, Iowa, and Maxine Osburn of Rogers, Ark.; brother, Donald Adams of Modale, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by a son, Steven; two brothers, and two sisters.
