- Mrs. William Donner

Mrs. William Donner, a sister of the Sas brothers, died on Monday, Sept. 10, 1894 at 4 p.m. at the home of her parents in this city.

The family resided on the old homestead at Bigler’s grove in Harrison County, Iowa about 6 miles southwest of Woodbine, where all the family resided before the Sas brothers went into business here.

Mrs. Donner has been a sufferer from rheumatism and heart trouble for the past seven months. And to comply with her request was brought to Blair three weeks ago that she might die surrounded by all her people and be buried near them.

She leaves a broken hearted husband and two bright children, a little boy of two years and a girl of eight, to mourn her untimely death, which occurred at the age of 33 years and 5 days. Her father, mother, four brothers and one sister live in Blair, and one brother at Savanah, Ill. All were present at the funeral.

Mrs. Donner was a member of the German Lutheran church, a dutiful wife and a kind and affectionate mother. The funeral services were conducted from the German Lutheran church by Rev. Solberg of this city assisted by Rev, Aaron of Magnolia, Iowa, at 2 p.m. Wednesday, and were very impressive. Her remains were interred in the Blair cemetery, and were followed to their last resting place by a large concourse of people.
