KENNARD, Nebr., March 7, 1893

Mr. Editor - Died - Mrs. Katherine Smith, on Sunday, March 5th, at the residence of John Dulaney near Kennard. Mrs. Smith was born in Belmont county, Ohio, May 1st, 1811. She was 81 years, 9 months and fourteen days old. She was married to John Smith on Jan. 20th, 1830. She was the mother of three children, two of whom are still living, one at Marshall, Ill. and one at Oklahoma. John Dulaney, Mrs. Forbs, Mrs. Lucretia McManigal, Wm. Dulaney of Oklahoma, Francis Dulaney of Omaha and Mrs. Eliza Dulaney of Oklahoma are her grandchildren. Mrs. Smith united with the M. E. church at the early age of 15 and has lived a Christian life ever since. She was highly respected by all that knew her. Rev. B. Allen officiated at the funeral.
