27 Oct., 1892 - The Pilot - Eleanor "Ellen" Widener (Edmondson)

KENNARD, Nebr., Oct. 26, 1892

Mr. Editor - Dear Sir - Died, Mrs. Eleanor Widener Oct. 21st, 1892 of pneumonia and inflammation of the stomach. Mrs. Widener was born in Washington county, Va., February 15, 1847, and was married to Wm. Widener in May, 1866. She united with the Lutheran church in 1869 and moved to Nebraska in 1882 where she has resided until her death. She leaves nine children to mourn her loss, eight boys and 1 girl. It is very hard on Mr. Widener to be reconciled to the loss of his companion. About three weeks ago he went to Virginia on a visit, returning the night after she died, not knowing she was dead until he got home. The funeral services were held in the M.E. church at Kennard on Sunday, Oct. 24, at 3 o’clock, Rev. C. B. Allen officiating.
