WIDOW OF "PAINTER" JENSEN DIES; DANISH NATIVE, HERE AS YOUNG WOMAN

Burial was in Blair Cemetery Saturday for Mrs. Elizabeth Jensen, 83, widow of the late Chris (Painter) Jensen of Blair. She died suddently in Lincoln at the home of her son, Anton, with whom she had lived since 1923.

Mrs. Jensen was born May 24, 1866, near Ribe, Denmark, but came to America as a young woman and attended Dana College. The couple lived in Chicago for a time before coming to Blair, where Mr. Jensen died in July, 1929.

Surviving the aged ex-Blairite are two sons, Anton of Lincoln, and Fred, head of the Department of Chemistry at Texas A. & M. College; and a daughter, Mrs. Ethel Eckley of Los Angeles.

MRS. JENSEN BURIED SATURDAY

Mrs. Jensen, widow of the late Chris Jensen, popularly know as “Painter” Jensen, was laid to rest in the Blair cemetery Saturday, November 19. Mrs. Jensen passed away suddenly in the home of her son, Anton, in Lincoln with whom she had lived since 1923. She was born on May 24, 1866 near the city of Ribe in Denmark and came to America as a young woman and attended Dana College for a short while. Here she met her future husband. They lived in Chicago awhile, coming later to Blair. Mr. Jensen based away early in July, 1929. Mrs. Jensen is survived by three children, all of whom were reared in Blair, Anton of Lincoln, Fred, head of the Department of Chemistry at Texas A. and M. College and Mrs. Ethel Eckley of Los Angeles, California.
