Buried in Fort Calhoun Cemetery

30 Jan., 1896 - The Pilot - Elder Hallock

Elder Hallock died at 1:30 A. M., after years of suffering and with a long felt want to be at rest. In his young days he was an active hard working man, but came to this Ft. Calhoun several years ago to find such rest and I quiet as he then so much needed, and all these years he has been a patient.sufferer, doing such work as he was able from time to time and making friends with all who knew him.

Once or twice at the solicitation of his family he suffered severe and painful surgical operations in Omaha without much relief. His son Edward has been with him all winter. His daughter, Mrs. Patten, of Omaha, has been with him much, and another married daughter in Wisconsin was with him a couple of weeks not long ago. His children are all grown and also a number of his grandchildren. He was born in 1820, therefore about 76.
