16 Apr., 1896 - The Pilot - Oscar D. Cochran

Oscar D. Cochran was born in this county near Herman, Nebr., Sept. 17th, 1879, but a greater portion of his life was spent in Blair where he was favorably known. He had not been feeling well for three or four weeks, but there was no serious apprehension as to the final outcome of his sickness until the Tuesday night previous to his death, and from that time he suffered untold agony until death came to his relief and claimed him in spite of the best of care and medical attendance.

Oscar took great pride in his chosen trade, that of baker, having devoted two years in acquiring it, was a young man of good habits, was industrious, and that he had many friends was attested by the large number who tendered their assistance during his illness, and by those who attended the funeral at the Baptist church (of which organization he was a member) on Sunday afternoon, which was conducted by the pastor Rev. S. C. Green, assisted by Rev. Overman of the Christian church.

Father, mother, two sisters and three brothers, besides other relatives are left to mourn his untimely death.
