John Armstrong died last Saturday afternoon at about five o’clock, of consumption. At the time of his death he was making his home with the family of Joe Thompson. He was a man about sixty years of age and leaves two children having been divorced from his wife. The funeral services were conducted in the Baptist church Sunday afternoon at two o’clock by Rev. S.C. Green. Mr. Armstrong was an old soldier with an unusually good war record, having been in some sixteen battles and he was buried under directions of the Grand Army Post of this place.
