#1-October 29, 1896- The Pilot- Elias Wilcox

Pioneer Elias Wilcox is to be buried here today at 2 p.m. on his own farm six miles west of Ft. Calhoun. We have known him for twenty-five years as a friend, although we have seen him but little of late years except on election days. He was a Democrat of the Democrats, of a very pronounced opinion, but we never knew him to quarrel over any subject. He has tilled the same farm probably for forty years, and probably was in good circumstances. His children must be all nearly grown and mostly married. His aged wife and hundreds of friends will sadly miss his kindly voice.
