8 Jan., 1891 - The Pilot - Georgia Anna (Miller) Lutz

LUTZ - At her home in this city on Sunday, Jan. 4th, 1891, after an illness of three weeks, Mrs. Georgie A., wife of John E. Lutz, aged 32 years, 6 months and 28 days.

Mrs. Georgie A. Lutz was born June 7, 1858. The family, consisting of husband and wife, one daughter and one son, came from Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Blair, Nebr., a little more than two years ago. In the short time Mrs. Lutz had won the esteem of most of our Blair people. A member of the M.E. Church, an active Sunday school worker, and an able assistant in work among the young people. She was also a worker and an officer in the Ladies’ Relief Association of Blair, and a member of the W.C.T.U.

Her health had not been good during the past summer which perhaps rendered it impossible for her to rally under her last sickness which commenced Dec. 9th, 1890. She was a patient sufferer, and even under intense pain was never heard to complain. A few days before she died when told by her pastor the she would not get well, she said, “it is all right”. Her mother, Mrs. Miller, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, was with her during her illness and stood with her family about the bedside and saw her pass quietly away about one o’clock P.M. on Sunday, Jan. 4th. Her body was immediately prepared for burial, a brief service was held at the house, and at five o’clock the family with the remains started for Cedar Rapids where the interment took place Jan. 6th.

Mr. Lutz and the motherless children have the sympathy of the entire community.
