5 Mar., 1891 - The Pilot - Henry C. Klindt

KLINDT - At his home near Calhoun on Saturday morning, Feb. 28th, 1891, Henry, only son of Peter Klindt, aged 23 years.

Henry Klindt was a young man of bright promise. Born and reared at the old home where died, he was known and respected by the entire community. Well educated, enterprising and social favorite, he was held high in the confidence of all. He was serving his third term as Assessor for Calhoun, having been placed in that responsible position immediately on attaining his majority. He was also an enterprising member of the Calhoun band, the remaining members of which attended in full uniform and played a solemn requiem over his remains at the funeral. He was sick but a few days with a disease resembling croup, pronounced quinsy by some of the physicians. He was an only son and leaves one sister with the aged parents to mourn his loss. The funeral was held at his father’s home on Monday, a German Lutheran minister from Omaha officiating, and was attended by hosts of friends and neighbors, there being a number from Omaha, and some twenty five ladies and gentlemen from Blair.
