Bert Campbell, 66, lifetime resident of Blair and vicinity, died unexpectedly Monday morning at his home, Ninth and State Street. He was found dead in bed.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, at First Methodist Church, the Rev. Sidney L. McCaig officiating. Burial, with arrangements in charge of the Campbell Mortuary, took place in Blair Cemetery.

Mr. Campbell was born at DeSoto 12 May 1881, and had lived in the region since except for three years in the U.S. Army at the time of the Spanish - American War.

On July 4, 1907, he and Catherine Stricklett were married. Six children were born to them.

Mr. Campbell had been baptized in the Methodist Church at the age of 13.

Surviving are his wife, Catherine; three sons, Milford, and Leslie Campbell both of Blair, and Howard Campbell of Kansas; and two daughters, Mrs. Vincent Hoffman (Mildred) and Mrs. Ben Moore (Laura), both of Blair; also 23 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A son, John Campbell, died in infancy.

Bert Campbell, 66, lifetime resident of Blair and vicinity, died unexpectedly Monday morning at his home, Ninth and State St. He was found dead in bed.

Mr. Campbell was born at DeSoto May 12, 1881, and had lived in this region since, except for three years in the U.S. Army at the time of the Spanish-American War.

Bert Campbell was born in DeSoto May 12, 1881 and died at his home in Blair on December 29, 1947. He spent his entire life around Blair with the exception of three years which was spent in the army during the Spanish-American War.

On July 4th, 1907 he was married to Miss Catherine Stricklett, and to them six children were born. Besides his wife, he leaves three sons, Milford and Leslie of Blair; Howard of Kansas; and two daughters, Mildred and Laura of Blair; also twenty three grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday at the Methodist church with Rev. McCaig officiating, and interment was made in the Blair cemetery.
