The funeral services were held in Herman and the remains laid to rest in the Blair Cemetery. #2-uly 8, 1897- The Pilot- Nancy Richards

Mrs. Nancy Richards was born in Belchertown, Mass., March 9th, 1830 and died in Herman, Nebr., June 28, 1897.

Sister Richards was married to Wm. S. Richards March 26, 1848, at Enfield, Mass. And with him came to Nebraska in July, 1869. Since that time she has resided in Washington County, Nebraska, and Harrison County, Iowa, and in both of these places she has, by her gentle unobtrusive deeds of love and neighborly kindness, endeared herself to everyone around her. In sickness and trouble none were more ready with help and sympathy and none more ready to rejoice in the happiness of others that was she. She heartily obeyed the command to “rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.”

She united with the M.E. church in 1848, and has been a faithful, earnest member of the church of her choice ever since. The church and the Sunday school, as well as the social circle and the home sorely miss her, but we know “It is well with her,” and that “Our loss is her eternal gain.”

The husband and two children, as well as the grandchildren who were always so dear to her have the heart-felt sympathy of all. A FRIEND
