September 2, 1897- The Pilot- James O’Brien

The funeral of Jas. O'Brien took place today from the Catholic church. Mr. O'Brien was poisoned from eating canned sardines. His daughter was also poisoned but the effect in her case will not be fatal. Mr. O'Brien was seventy-five years old and a highly respected citizen of the community. Mrs. O'Brien was taken from the family only last spring. Four daughters and two sons are the remaining members of the family. Two daughters are married. One, Mrs. Chas. Fasnacht of this city and Mrs. Sherman of Tekamah. The bereaved family has the sympathy of their many friends in their sad affliction.
