December 30, 1897- The Pilot- William Francis Greene

Wm. Greene, for many years a Washington County settler, died at his home in Calhoun last Wednesday night and was buried by the Masons from the Congregational church of that city Friday. Among the Masons in attendance from Blair were Judge Jackson, E.S. Beatty and Wm. Wulff. Mr. Green was a pioneer settler in the county and a Union veteran. His illness was of short duration and finally run into pneumonia with fatal results. He had many warm friends in the county who at this time extend their sympathies to the bereaved friends and relatives.
