October 18, 1897- The Pilot- Rebecca (Phillips) Davison

Washington County lost an old and respected resident last Friday in the death of Mrs. J.H. Davison which occurred some two miles northwest of this city. The immediate cause of her death was nervous prostration, though the early stages of the disease bore symptoms of malarial fever. Mrs. Davison was born in Pennsylvania in 1835 and at the age of thirty-two was married to J.H. Davison. Four children have been born to them. Wm. and Samuel age 29, James Oscar age 23, Lewis age 21. The family moved to Nebraska in 1887 and with the exception of eighteen months in Frontier County, they have made Washington County their home. The family is much respected by our people and the floral emblems displayed by their neighbors show the high esteem in which Mrs. Davison was held by her neighbors.
