Marian Madsen, age 93, passed away March 15, 2022, at Carter Place in Blair. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 21, 2022, at Orum Immanuel Lutheran Church at 10:30 a.m. Graveside services will follow in the Orum Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 20, 2022, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Campbell Aman Funeral Home in Blair.

Marian was born March 17, 1928, in Omaha, the daughter of Henry and Ruth (Cameron) Jackson. She was raised in rural Herman and attended New England School through the 8th grade, and then attended and graduated from Herman High School. After High School she continued her education at Midland College to earn a teaching certificate. After college she taught at Vacoma and Bisbee Country schools in Washington County.

On March 26, 1949, she was united in marriage to Ralph Madsen in Herman. Marian worked at Crowell Home in Blair for over 30 years. She loved gardening, cooking, playing cards with friends, going to the Chatt Center in Tekamah, and taking trips with the Washington County Bank Heritage Club. Marian was a long time member of Orum Immanuel Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the women’s circle.

Marian is survived by her children Richard (Karen) Madsen, Russell (Luann) Madsen, Cara (Steve Gyhra) Jorgenson, grandchildren; Rod (Jessica) Madsen, Josh (Kari) Madsen, Adam Madsen, Cody (Rachel Madsen, Ashton (Dave) Smith, and Megan (Evan) Krist, 11 great- grandchildren, along with nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ralph Madsen, brother Cameron (Mary Jane) Jackson, brothers-in-law and sisters-in- law; Howard and Lela Loftis and Charles and Katherine Clark.

Memorials may be directed to Orum Immanuel Lutheran Church, the Orum Cemetery, or the Chatt Center in Tekamah.

Campbell Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
