CAR CRASH FATAL TO D. COLLINS

Daniel D. Collins

Daniel Dennis Collins, 19, of Burlington, Iowa, formerly of 401 W. Eighth St., South Sioux City, was dead on arrival at the Fort Madison, Iowa, hospital Friday morning after he was involved in a one car crash five miles north of Fort Madison.

Lee County Deputy Sheriff, Bud Arnold, said Mr. Collins's car failed to negotiate a "T" intersection on a county road. He said the car went through a ditch and crash into an embankment.

Mr. Collins moved in July from South Sioux City to Burlington where he was the Assistant Manager of Kinney Shoe Store.

He was born August 18, 1949, at Yankton, S. D. and was a 1967 graduate of the South Sioux City High School.

Survivors include his father, Alfred Collins of South Sioux City; seven brothers, John and Dale, both of Sioux City, Lyle of South Sioux City, Louis of Bethesda, Md., James of Jackson, Miss., Ronald of Rockford, Ill., and David of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and four sisters, Mrs. Joyce Hauman of Concord, Ca., Mrs. Joann Jessip of South Sioux City, Miss Merle Collins of Rockford, and Miss Donna Collins of Sioux City.

The body will be brought to the Jack Becker Funeral Home in South Sioux City.
