Ft. Calhoun, Nov. 15, 1898, Millie, the thirteen year old daughter of Fritz Kruse, now of Douglas County, was buried here at Ft. Calhoun today, this writer officiating at the grave. Considering the circumstances there was a large turnout of neighbors and sympathizers. Several other children are still sick, but we hope for the best.

16- Again we stood by an open grave, a ten year old sister of the one buried yesterday was interred today and we found it so very hard to know how to frame words that would express our sympathy. There was a larger turn out than yesterday, mostly from Douglas County. Little Meta was much loved by the neighbors who are doing all they can for the other little ones still in danger.
