James Daniels of Blair Passes Away While on a Street Car

Just as the conductor approached him for his fare, James Daniels, an old resident of Blair, fell suddenly forward in his seat, dead the cause being supposedly heart trouble. Daniels had boarded a Walnut Hill car at Thirteenth and Douglas streets, apparently well and healthy. A little later he appeared to have a fainting spell and died just as the car approached California street. He was taken from the car at Webster street and the coroner called. He had just returned from a trip to Zillah, Wash., where he had been visiting two daughters, and was on his way to the Webster street depot to take the train home to Blair, where he had lived for the past thirty years and where he was a prosperous citizen. Two of his sons, who were notified, came to Omaha and will take the body to Blair, where it will be buried. Mr. Daniels was 67 years old and served in the civil war in Company M. Fourth regiment, Missouri volunteers. He came to Nebraska thirty years ago from Iowa. He was born in Ohio. Besides his two daughters in Washington, he has five sons, Samuel, George, Francis, Edward and Richard, who all live in Blair. His second wife is living at Blair, and a stepdaughter, Mrs. Leach, lives in South Omaha.—World Herald.
