After a prolonged illness George Thunn passed away May 14 at his home south of Ft. Calhoun. He was born in Blair on March 22, 1885, and on February 10, 1909 was married to Marie Mordhorst of Bennington. They lived for six years on a farm near Bennington, and in 1915 purchased and moved to the farm south of Ft. Calhoun which has ever since been their home. He is survived by his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Ernest Schmidt of Elkhorn, Irene of Omaha, Louise at home, and two sons, Arthur and Lester, at home. Two children preceded him in death.

Mr. Thunn was one of the community’s substantial and respected citizens, and his passing is a personal bereavement to a host of friends, while to his immediate family it means the loss of a kindly and considerate husband and father.

The funeral services were held in the Presbyterian Church, Tuesday afternoon, with Rev. R.E. Donaldson officiating in the presence of a large number of friends of the deceased. Burial was in the Ft. Calhoun Cemetery.
