#1-Published in the Blair Pilot January 21, 1920 The sad news was received here Tuesday of last week of the death of Mrs. J. M. Dixon of Los Angeles, California, but the particulars were not known when we went to press last week.

Mrs. Dixon stated to attend the revival services at the Pico Christian Church where a series of meeting was being held. She told the conductor on the street car where she wanted to get off, and he slowed up the car but didn't quite get it stopped, starting up again just as Mrs. Dixon was about to step off. She fell onto the payment hitting the back of her head. She was killed instantly. A deputy sheriff came alongside the car and saw the accident, picked up the body and took it to the receiving hospital. When they saw that the life was extinguished the body was sent to the undertaking establishment. When the service was over, they went to the car for Mrs. Dixon and when they didn't find her there, concluded she had went over to Asa Dixon Sr. as she had talked of doing. Next morning they found that she had not gone there and she was a little later than earlier and the sad news of her sudden death.

Mrs. Dixon had made so many friends during her short stay out there they wanted to have a funeral service for her, which was done Thursday afternoon. The funeral party started home with the body Friday morning reaching here Monday morning. Another service was held at the family's residences by Rev. J. B. Williams at 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon. The large attendance and wealth of the beautiful flowers assured something of the esteem in which Mrs. Dixon was held in the community.

Annie Taylor was born June 4, 1867, just across the river in Harrison County coming here with her parents but when just a small girl. She was married to J. M. Dixon in this city February 25, 1891, and four children were born to them all of who are living except one daughter, Mrs. Jessie Reeves passed over August 9, 1918. Those living are Catherine, Mrs. D. L. Montgomery, Mae, Mrs. Temple of Canada and William who lives at home. She is survived by her aged parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Taylor, her only brother having died many years ago.

Mrs. Dixon was a kind and loving wife, mother and friend who will be greatly missed because she served much. The bereaved family has the sincere sympathy of many friends.
