Infant boy Pace
Died on 2/8/1894
Buried in Blair Cemetery

Thursday, February 15, 1894 - The Pilot - 4 Month old Boy, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Pace

The little 4-months-old boy of Mr. and Mrs. John Pace died at their home in the west part of town on Thursday last. The funeral was preached at 2 o'clock on Friday by the Free Methodist minister, and the remains were interred in the Blair cemetery. About two months ago the friends of this family contributed together and sent Mr. Pace to Hot Springs, Ark., where he has been treated for inflammatory rheumatism, and Mrs. Pace has been very ill for the past three or four weeks, with scarcely enough provisions in the house to keep soul and body together, and yet her pride prevented her from letting her circumstances be known. When the child died the destitute condition of the mother was revealed and one of our merchants promptly sent her provisions. Pride keeps many & poor deserving woman from asking for bread when starving, and our charitable people should always investigate where they have any reason to believe that dire want exists. Blair can and will take care of her worthy poor.
