1) March 6, 1899 - The Pilot - Edwin Wilkins

The death of Edwin, the fourteen year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Wilkins occurred Friday night. Dr. Jopas, of Omaha, assisted by Blair physicians, performed an operation Friday for appendicitis, but the nervous shock was too great and the young spirit took its flight the same night. The young man has suffered for some time from the dreaded disease; and death came as a relief, though it was hard for the fond parents to part with their beloved son. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to Mr. and Mrs. Wilkins in their sad bereavement.
