18 Sept., 1899 - The Pilot - George Badgerow

George Badgerow, the youngest son of Mrs. La Fayette Badgerow, was born near Toronto, Canada, October 22, 1878. His father died May 1, 1890 when George was a boy, little less than twelve years of age.

Mr. Badgerow, shortly before his death, had purchased land in this county and was making arrangements to move his family here. In 1892 Mrs. Badgerow with the younger members of the family came to Blair, where the home of the family has since been.

On Saturday, the 9th of this month, George came home from Alliance, Nebr., being then quite ill, and went to the home of his sister, Mrs. Dr. Crosby, where he remained until his death at 6:00 o'clock on Friday evening.

His mother was then visiting her old home in Canada. As soon as she was informed of the critical illness of her son she started on the journey home, but was not able to reach here until some twelve hours after his death. Brothers and sisters had done all that could be done to relieve his sufferings, but George was not possessed of a strong constitution, and his family and friends entertained fears from the beginning that he might not be able to endure a long and severe attack. George had himself very calmly expressed the same fear.

Funeral services took place from the home of Dr. Crosby yesterday afternoon at 2:30, Rev. F. W. Gardner having charge. George was a young man, well liked, and will be missed among his associates and especially by the family, to whom he was always so kind and loving, in fact he thought nothing was too good for his mother and sisters, never finding any. thing too hard to do for them.
