#1-Published in the Blair Pilot March 15, 1922 The sad news reached Blair Friday morning of the death of James M. Dixon at a sanitarium in Lincoln, following an illness of over a year with kidney trouble.

The body was brought here today and the funeral was held at the Christian Church at 2 o'clock, Rev. W. H. Underwood officiating in the absence of a resident pastor at the Christian Church. The day was a perfect one and obsequies were largely attended.

Mr. Dixon was born in Blair 54 years ago and this has been his home practically all his life. He was married to Miss Anna Taylor, daughter of W. E. Taylor, of this city, February 24, 1891, and four children born to them, three of whom are now living, Mrs. Katherine Montgomery of Lincoln, Mrs. May Temple, of Vancouver, B. C., and William J. B. Dixon of Lincoln.

Mrs. Dixon was killed in a street car accident in Los Angeles about two years ago and Mr. Dixon has spent some time in California since that time. He had recently returned from there and has just gone into business in Omaha. When taken sick he went to Lincoln to be near his two children.

He is survived by his father, Asa Dixon, Sr. and seven brothers, Asa Dixon, Jr. of this city, Frank and Wallace of Tekamah, Emil, Charles and Oscar of California and Fred of New York City, Mrs. William Miller of Los Angeles, Mrs. T. E. King of Omaha, Mrs. Russell Tharpp of Seattle, Wash.

Mr. Dixon was in the real estate business there for many years and his death, while in the prime of his life, brings deep regrets from many old friends of this well-known family.

News reached Blair last Friday evening that James Dixon, former real estate dealer in this city, had passed away at the home of his daughter in Lincoln just after noon of that day.

Deceased was a native of Blair, having been born here fifty four years ago. He was married to Miss Anna Taylor, also of this city, on February 25, 1891, and to them four children were born: Mrs. Catherine Montgomery of Lincoln, Nebr.; Wm. Dixon of Lincoln; Mrs. May Temple of Vancouver and Mrs. Jesse Reed who passed away some years ago.

Mr. Dixon had been ailing for more than a year and was unable to find relief, although he went to California and other resorts and consulted the best physicians he could find.

He leaves besides his children five brothers and four sisters, all known to Blair people, to mourn him. They are Emil, Chas. and Oscar of Los Angeles and Asa of Blair and Mrs. Russell Thrapp of Seattle; Mrs. L. E. Robinson of Holtville, California; Mrs. Will Miller, Los Angeles; and Mrs. Alma King of Omaha.

The funeral services, with Rev. Underwood officiating, were held at the Christian church on Wednesday at 3 p.m., and interment was made in the Blair cemetery.

JAMES M. DIXON PASSES AWAY AT A LINCOLN SANITARIUM

News reached Blair relatives of James M. Dixon on Friday evening, that he had passed away at a sanitarium in Lincoln where he went a few days since for treatment.

Mr. Dixon had been sick for the past year and a half and when he returned from California a few months ago, he went to Omaha for medical attention. He was then taken to Lincoln in order to be near his daughter and son. Last week The Tribune made a mention of his serious illness so his friends were prepared for the news of his death.

James M. Dixon was born in Blair fifty four years ago, and has always made this place his home. Of late years he has spent considerable time in California, but retained his home in Blair.

He was married February 25, 1891 to Miss Anna Taylor, and four children were born to them: Mrs. Catherine Montgomery of Lincoln, Mrs. May Temple of Vancouver, B.C., William Dixon of Lincoln and Mrs. Jessie Reeves, who died four or five years ago. Mrs. Dixon was killed in a streetcar accident at Los Angeles, Calif. about two years ago.

His aged father, Asa Dixon, Sr., seven brothers, Fred of New York, Emil, Charles and Oscar, all of Los Angeles, Calif., Frank and Wallace Dixon of Tekamah, and Asa Dixon, Jr. of Blair; four sisters, Mrs. Russell Thrapp of Seattle Wash., Mrs. L. E. Robinson of Holtville, Calif., Mrs. Will Miller, Los Angeles and Mrs. Alma King of Omaha survive him.

The body was brought to Blair on Wednesday and taken to the home of his brother, Asa, and at 3 o’clock the funeral was held at the Christian church of which he was a member. As this church has no pastor here at present, Rev. W. H. Underwood conducted the services, and burial was made in the Blair cemetery.
