Anna Franciska Reckmeyer Engelhardt was born at Bokel, Westphalia, Germany in 1887, coming to the United States when 18 years old, with her father, her mother having died before leaving Germany. The family first settled in St. Louis, Mo., where they remained several years, then took up their abode at Quincy, Ill

Here she met and later married John C. Engelhardt, Jan. 1, 1866, and two years later they moved to Bushnell, Ill., where they resided for 25 years, when they moved to Julesburg, Colo, and lived with their son, B.F. Englehardt; coming to Arlington a few years ago, they residing here ever since. Five children were born to them, as follows: Mrs. A. G. Ludwig and Miss Mary Englehardt, of Arlington; J. F. Englehardt, Concrete, Wash., G. W. Englehardt, Osceola, Neb., and B. F. Englehardt, Julesburg, Colo., all of whom survive her together with 13 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

For several years she has been a sufferer from the effects of a fall she received four years ago last March, from the effects of which she never recovered. During this time she has been a great sufferer, all of which she bore with great fortitude.

She is also survived by her husband who long since passed his 80th birthday, and who has been her constant companion during her long confinement to her home.
