Sharon Jean Gordon, 82, of Blair, passed away on May 26, 2022, after a long battle with dementia. Visitation will be held June 7, 2022, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair.

Sharon was born on Feb.14, 1940, in Lincoln, the daughter of Ruby and Ralph Baughman.

In 1961, Sharon graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a degree in Home Economics. At UNL, Sharon was a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority. After graduating, on May 13, 1961, she married Fred Gordon. The newlyweds moved to Fort Campbell, Ky., where Fred was stationed. While at Fort Campbell, the couple was blessed with their son, Scott.

The family later moved back to Nebraska, residing in Lincoln and welcoming their daughter, Sandra. After the family moved to Blair in 1972, Sharon began working in the development office at Dana College, which led to a development position at Children’s Hospital in Omaha and a Master’s degree in public administration.

Sharon concluded her career at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair, retiring early to farm with Fred full-time. An avid gardener, Sharon will always be remembered for raising countless tomato plants, which she gave away to her friends and neighbors.

Sharon served as secretary for the Blair Kiwanis Club and as treasurer for the annual MCH Auxiliary Rummage Sale for many years.

She is survived by Fred, son Scott (Janis) Gordon, daughter Sandra (Ron Agababian),and granddaughters, Rebecca and Amelia. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and siblings.
