The angel of death has again entered our midst and last week took the mother of the Unkel family.

Mrs. Barbara Unkel was born in Wurttemberg, Germany nearly seventy years ago and later emigrated with her husband to America, coming to Nebraska and has most of the time up to her death lived in our midst.

Her husband about twenty years ago was killed in a railroad accident leaving her to take care of a large family of small children, seven which are alive today, and by her industrious saving and good business management was comfortably possessed of this world’s good, and the children now all grown are some of our most respected citizens.

Mrs. Unkel was a most devoted and Christian mother, always having uppermost in mind the welfare of her children who will deeply feel the loss of their advisor and parent.

The funeral was held Saturday morning from the German Lutheran church, Rev. Grauenhorst officiating, interment taking place in the cemetery near the church. The entire community extends their sympathy to the bereaved family.- Shorty.
