April 25, 1912- Arlington Review Herald- Elizabeth Gibbs

On Thursday, April 18, Mrs. Wm. Gibbs died at her home near the Whitford school house east of town, aged 60 years. The funeral was held last Saturday, conducted by Rev. Wm. Esplin of the M.E. church here, interment in Arlington cemetery.

Mrs. Gibbs was born in England in 1852, coming to this country in 1867, going direct to Douglas County, where she was married to Wm. Gibbs in 1873. They lived near Elkhorn and Valley nearly all their married life, moving to the Pemberton farm about four years ago, where they have since resided. Besides the husband, eight children survive her, all whom reside at home excepting a son, who is married and residing on the bottom south of Arlington. Mrs. Gibbs was sick only a few days, she being out and around, apparently in her usual health on Easter Sunday, when she caught a severe cold, which resulted in her death. Those who had the honor of her acquaintance speak of her as being a woman of superior worth, a good neighbor and a loving friend, and her sudden death is mourned by all.
