The Washington County Sheriff's Office confirmed a Blair man injured in a single vehicle rollover earlier this month has died.

The sheriff's office identified the man as Kevin Mann, 70. According to a GoFundMe established in his name, Mann passed away Wednesday, May 18.

Mann, along with two others, were injured when the driver of a white pickup lost control of the vehicle on a washboarded section of P33 while traveling north on May 12. The driver attempted to correct the vehicle but the vehicle ultimately rolled.

Mann and a female passenger were ejected from the vehicle, according to the sheriff's office. The female passenger remains hospitalized but her condition was not disclosed. The driver has since been released from medical care.

The crash remains under investigation.

A longtime Blair resident, Kevin Mann was known for the love he had for his family and friends.

Mann, who comes from a large family, including six siblings. was passionate about being around his relatives, said his granddaughter, Tori Goebel.

"He had so much pride in all his grandchildren," she said. "There's so much that could be said about it.

He had a huge family — he knew family was just what you wanted it to be. He was a very big family man."

Mann died May 18 at the age of 70 following a vehicle accident. Born in Alliance, Mann moved to Blair when he was 12, attending Blair Community Schools throughout his time.

Mann married twice, having one son and daughter, and also raising his stepchildren as his own, Goebel said.

For two years, Mann was part of the Air Force, joining in 1970 and staying in until 1972.

"He went to basic training at Fort Lewis in Washington and then he went to advanced training in Maryland and then was stationed in Okinawa," Goebel said. "He went into basic training with one of his best friends and they stayed friends throughout that time even though they went to different places."

Friendship was an important aspect to Mann, his granddaughter said. "He had a couple friends in Herman — he was here upwards of four times a week, sometimes just to hang out," she said. "He liked being around people, he liked having a good time."

The one characteristic Goebel remembers in Mann is his generosity. "He would do anything for you, he would really, if you needed it, give you the shirt off his back. And I know a lot of people say that, but it was there," she said. "His last name is Mann and he honestly was just one of the world's greatest men."

In an article published in the June 7 edition of the Pilot-Tribune, "Blair man remembered for love of family," the Enterprise incorrectly stated Kevin Mann was part of the Air Force. Mann served for two years in the U.S. Army. The Enterprise regrets the error.
