Death of Henry Whitlock

At the home of his daughter, Mrs. H. L. W. Reckmeyer, at 6 o'clock Tuesday evening, occurred the death of Henry Whitlock, of Farmington, IA, aged 73 years. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon, the interment taking place in Arlington cemetery. He had been ailing for some time, and last summer he came to Arlington from his home in Farmington, in hopes that the change would prove beneficial, but all that could be done for him was of no avail as death came to his relief Tuesday evening.

Henry Whitlock was born in Farmington, IA. December 1, 1839, and was therefore at the time of his death nearly 73 years old.

His parents came to this country from Germany in the 30's, and settled in the wilderness near where is located the town of Farmington, IA, where he has resided ever since. Oct. 20, 1863, he was married to Miss Mary Francis Lefranz, who resided near Etna, MO. To this union seven children were born, four of whom survive him, as follows: Mrs. H. L. W. Reckmeyer, Arlington; Rev. W. E. Whitlock, Kirksville, MO; Mrs. Stephen Marshall and Mrs. Frank, Yetter, of Independence, MO, all of whom will be here to attend the funeral Friday afternoon.

The deceased was an exemplary citizen, and during his entire mature manhood he was a consistent member of the church, and a true Christian man.
