INJURIES IN FALL ARE FATAL TO MRS. GEORGE KUHR, SR.

Blair Resident, 87, Dies in Hospital Here Saturday Morning

MRS. KUHR HAD BEEN IN COUNTY 65 YEARS

Native of Germany, Mrs. Kuhr Was Mother of One of Best-Known Farm Families in County; Funeral Services Monday

Fatally injured when she suffered a fall at her home last week, Mrs. George Kuhr, Sr., 87, resident of Washington county for 65 years, died Saturday morning at Court View hospital. She had been taken there Tuesday afternoon.

As Anna C. Drevsen, Mrs. Kuhr 5 was born in Bunstorf, Germany December 2, 1849. She joined the German Lutheran church there. - In 1868, when she was 21 years old, she came to the United States, settling in Omaha, where she held a good position for three years.

Married in 1871

She was married to Mr. Kuhr February 20, 1871, and they came to Washington county to make it their home. Mr. and Mrs. Kuhr retired from farming in 1900 and moved into Blair.

Of the nine children born to Mrs. Kuhr, eight survive: Henry, George Jr., William, John, Otto, Mrs. Hans Wrich, Mrs. Albert B. Hansen and Mrs. Carl Wolff.

There are 26 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Methodist Episcopal church, the Rev. Bryant Howe officiating. Burial was in Blair cemetery
