July 3, 1930- Arlington Review Herald- Lila Ruth French

Lila Ruth French was born September 2, 1923 at Arlington, Nebraska, and died June 30, 1930, at the age of 7 years, 9 months and 27 days, from acute Brights Disease.

She had lived near this community all her life, and attended the Marsh school one and three-fourths miles east and south of her home, where she would have entered the fourth grade this fall. She was very much interested in her school work, was an apt pupil and looked forward to the coming year with the keenest anticipation.

She had always been in perfect health, and on Sunday afternoon was in the best of spirits. Monday morning she awoke, and complained of not feeling well. Her parents thinking it only a slight physical disorder paid little attention, but in the afternoon when she showed signs of delirium, a doctor was hastily summoned. Everything possible was done in an effort to save her life, but despite all efforts, she passed away at 9:30 Monday evening, June 30th. Her death was due to acute Brights Disease.

Those who are left to mourn her loss are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. French; two sisters, Ethel and Irene; three brothers, Harold, Raymond and Gifford; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the home Wednesday afternoon, at two o’clock, Rev. A.J. Edgar officiating. Mrs. Edgar sang two solos, “Safe in the Arms of Jesus” and, “Sometime We’ll Understand.” Interment was made in the Arlington cemetery.
