Lydia Friederike Sophia Stranghoener, nee Nieburg was born June 22, 1885 at Washington, Mo.

Here she spent her childhood and young womanhood, and on September 14, 1911 she was united in marriage to Mr. Herman Stranghoener of this place. To this union three children were born, two sons and a daughter. The daughter preceded the mother in death on August 16, 1913.

Thursday morning, August 6th, Mrs. Stranghoener arose as usual to prepare breakfast, but about 6:30 she became violently ill and died a little later of acute heart trouble at the age of 46 years, 1 month and 14 days.

She leaves to mourn her sudden loss, a loving husband, Herman Stranghoener; and two sons, Gilbert and Alfred; her mother, Mrs. Emma Nieburg, who resided with them, two sisters, Mrs. Paul Lottman and Mrs. Wm. Bolton of Bloomfield; three brothers, Wm. Nieburg and Emil Nieburg of Washington, Mo., and Julius Nieburg of Kirkwood, Mo., besides a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services were held Sunday, August 9th, with Rev. G.W. Wolter in charge. Burial was made in St. Paul’s Lutheran cemetery.
